Yes, that is a smudge on my mirror. No, I don't know where it came from. No, that doesn't make this picture awkward.
The awkward part is this outfit. I don't know how I feel about it. Still don't.
Final decisions: Sweater, stays; black top, gone; skirt, still deciding. I am going to try wearing this skirt with other things before I make my final, final decisions!
Sweater: JC Penny's
Top: old and I can't read the label. One reason why it is going!
Skirt: A refashion from a Kohls dress. Again, old!
Necklace: Charming Charlies

Chambray and yellow
Sorry for the default iphone pictures. Sometimes it is just easier.
I found this chambray shirt on a sale rack at Kohls months ago. I had a gift card. It was the right price. Match made in heaven right?
Wrong.
I haven't gotten it to "look" the way I want just yet but this outfit wasn't too far from ok.
These shoes I bought for my sister's wedding. In typical AH style I don't purchase something I won't wear again.
Again, wrong.
After the wedding they sat in my closet for a year before I touched them again. Now all of the sudden they are so worn I don't even remember their original color. Finally paid off.
Cardigan - Thrifted (forever 21)
Chambray shirt - Kohls
jeans - Target
shoes - JC Penny's
Final decisions: Everything stays. I like the way it all fits and the prices were all perfect!

fall
I honestly don't know where this summer went.
I am not complaining! I love, love, love fall!
I posted a little about it here.
If the weather could stay just like this, all. the. time. I would never complain again! Sunny, cool enough to need a sweater, and just beautiful!
I love the colors!
I am loving digging out some sweaters and cardigans again!
Final decisions: everything stays. It all fits nicely and I have no complaints!
cardigen: thrift store (Chadwicks originally)
tshirt: thrift store (Old Navy originally. You can see my excitement about it here.)

Mermaid?
I was told I looked like a mermaid. More than once yesterday. Don't know if that is a compliment or not.
Mermaid or no, I love this dress and this outfit!
Dress: Gift from my mom (walmart)
sweater: OLD! JC Penny's I think
Cami: Target
Shoes: Burlington Coat Factory
Final: Everything stays. Fits nicely and in spite of the age of the sweater it is still in decent condition. It is, however, getting a face lift. Will post about it when I'm done!
Happy Monday Y'all!

Hawaii
When I spotted this dress in a thrift some many months ago I fell in love! What was better, the price tag's color meant it was up for 50% off! Score!
Originally made in Hawaii I purchased it for a grand total of $6.
It is super fun and different. The colors and pictures that make of the fabric are so opposite to the majority of my wardrobe!
Dress: thrifted
Bracelet: state fair vendor from Kenya
Shoes: Payless
Final: Everything stay. I love the way the dress fits and how fun and different it is!

Resolve
I have resolved that unless I just grab someone to take a picture, it's not gonna happen.
I have resolved that no matter how I "feel" I just need to take the picture.
I have resolved that even on the "off" days pictures need to happen.
I have resolved that even these cell grabbed fine prints will be the best for now.
I have resolved to let go of "perfect" and be dependable to finish a job.
I have resolved that that said "perfect" will not manage me, but I will manage it.
I have resolved to wear "those" items in order to make this thing work!
Top: Target clearance rack ages ago!
Pants: Walmart clearance rack, again, ages ago!
Necklace: Charming Charlies
Shoes: Payless
Final: Everything stays! Great fit and I like the way they go with other things.

DADIM day 16
I know what you're thinking...she can not count.
Sad fact, I can count.
Other sad fact, I am aware I am missing several days. Again, I can count, but the word "several" sounds better than the actual number. Go with me on this one.
This weekend I have been in MO celebrating my cousin's college graduation. Lots of fun, lots of doing, lots of lots.
I have worn skirts/dresses all those missing days. I have witnesses to testify. Just no pictures. Let's hope I can make up for it the remaining weeks of the month. So far it has been a success and being away has made the temptation to wear pants less because I only packed skirts/dresses! I have no other options. Score!
This outfit brought to you today but the St. Louis Cardinals!
Shirt: walmart
skirt(skort does that count?): JC Penny's
flops: OBX
The cuz and I on top of Busch Stadium!
Happy Weekend!

Man, I thought I would get better at this...not happening! I keep missing my picture taking opportunities. Before I know it, it is 20 minutes past 10 o'clock and I'm ready for gym shorts and a tshirt, not a picture!
Thankfully, this weekend was my sister's graduation and party so lots of picture taking times and luckily I did happen to make it in front of the shutter once or twice!

It's been a tough week. Not going to lie. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc. I have been so incredibly thankful for the timing of my God in bringing along just the right people at just the right moment.
All that to say, getting pictures this weekend didn't happen. Well not entirely true. Getting good pictures of me this weekend didn't happen.

DADIM Day 2 :chambray and pink
I have literally had a running argument with this dress all day long. Not sure if it sits well. The longer I wear it, the more I like it. However, I am not a fan of 2 things. Any guesses?
#1 = length! Length is a big one. I am finding it hard to like anything unless it touches or goes above my knee or down to my toes...I am trying people.
#2 = the buttons down the front make for a not so pleasant combination, ESPECIALLY with children!
However, I really like it. Really.
Today was a long day folks! Sorry for my appearance being evidence of so!
Dress: OLD! I have NO idea where it came from! My mom passed it down a few weeks ago.
cardigan: old navy OLD!
Belt: land's end
shoes: kohls
Final decisions: everything stays! I, for the most part, liked the way everything fit and not a thing has stains or is warped really!
DADIM Day 1 :Comfort Clothes
Blogger seems to hate me right now. Couldn't upload a single thing last night and these two alone took FOREVER!
Oh well, onto it!
You know that food that is titled comfort food? The dishes that make you feel comfortable and at home no matter what? It is different for everyone. Well, today's outfit was basically that, in clothes form. Comfort clothes. I began DADIM yesterday with no drive, no inspiration, and no time. The alarm went off late, the closet was a mess, the kids were crazy, yada, yada, yada.
However, when it comes down to it, I did manage to wear a dress, the first day, in May. AND, it wasn't terrible...well, too terrible.
Dress: OLD walmart
sweater: thrifted
tank: hand-me-down/over Target
shoes: OBX
Final decisions: Sweater stays. Tank stays. Shoes stay. Dress...pretty sure it needs to go. This thing has seen it's better days and let me tell you they were some time ago. I would love to repalace it before I toss it but that's not the point of this. If I happen to thrift one, great! If not, oh well.
DADIM Day 1 = success. mild but a success.

DADIM
I haven't quite fallen off the face of the earth! It's a been a crazy few weeks! The birth of a new nephew, the move of my sister and her hubby, and my exciting news have paired up and kept me busy!
I am super excited to share my plans for May! My real life and now blogging friend Natalie is one of the authors for A Dress a Day in May project. She posted on facebook earlier this week that May was coming up and posted the link to the blog! I remember it from last year and this year, I have decided to join!
I love, love, love skirts but I default more often than not to pants and shorts because of ease with the kiddos and life! However, I am determined to make this work! So, follow along! Join me on some bloglovin', leave a comment, and definitely check out the DADIM blog! Check out the "official" rules here!
I already know of a few exceptions: Memorial day weekend annual camping trip with the church. Probably not going to be hiking all over the place in a skirt! =) That takes out at least 3 days!

YOLOMondays :: peacocks and elephants!
Yesterday we headed to DC for a picnic for my mom's birthday! The spring weather has finally leveled out around here so it was time to pull out some newbies! Yes, this breaks every rule to this game, HOWEVER, in my defense: they were in the closet before I started...well, all but the jacket!
But, I had been looking for just this jacket for weeks now! I really needed it to pull together some looks! Works well don't ya think!?
I was super excited that this outfit costs a grand total of = $9
Yes, you read that right!
Dress - 5below (didn't know they had decent clothes? neither did I?!) $5
jacket - thrift store NYjeans $3
shoes - Waves (OBX) - $1 (end of the season)
necklace - sister's cloest
ring - Hobby Lobby
Since the outfit was complete sans jewelry I am saying it was $9! I was pretty stoked!
Final Decisions : EVERYTHING stays! Not a thing went wrong or deserved the boot!
Wednesday, April 10
black and gold
No it's not in reference to my closet love of VCU!
I don't wear much gold, like at all. But I decided to give it a try!
Eh, neither here nor there. Haven't made a decision on liking it or not.
Shirt - Kohls
Pants - forever21
shoes - Burlington Coat Factory
Necklace - Charming Charlie's
Quality speaking, pictures are better, right? Ha! However, the sun messed it all up. I didn't even realize it until after I got them on the computer! Oh well, I'm new at this!
Final decisions - for now, it all stays. I am NOT a fan of the shoulders on this shirt but I am going to give it a second chance before it gets the boot. We'll see if my athletic shoulders can carry it a different way!
