what's the point?

The rapid rise in popularity of Pinterest can't be ignored if you tried. Since the initial, invitation-based launch in 2010 the site has gained over 11 million users. With ideas, recipes, pictures, and funnies ranging the spectrum it is easy to get lost.

Just like that, I was.

I love Pinterest and this is not a page to bash the site or even claim the need of Pinterest annonymous. I'm still a fan of the popular pinning place and weekly frequent it. However, after many months I soon noticed a dwindle in 2 things.

#1 - confidence
#2 - gratitude

Instead of having the cords of inspiration, encouragement, and "that push I needed," stroked, a huge cloud of discontentment rose inside. But, as with many a cloud it appeared more of a fog that just skewed my view instead of blinding my site.

I didn't realize it was there until I decided to organize my closet. As I dug through the articles of clothing, shoes missing their pairs, and craft supplies I found myself up to my hips in stuff. STUFF.

After I organized the way I wanted and threw out some singleton shoes, stained clothing, and half-way finished, all-the-way failed projects, I looked around at the overwhelming amount at my feet. It hit me. I had what I needed. I had more than I needed. I have more than anyone needs and yet I manage my way onto Pinterest often to weed through picture after blog post of clothing ideas, the "latest" styles, and how to wear this or that. I found discontentment with the loads and loads of shirts, pants, and skirts.

So, my friends, the birth of this project.

I put all my hangers backwards like this post (on pinterest) and got to work. My plan from here is to wear everything in my closet. After wearing it I will decide 1 of 3 things:

#1 - keep it
#2 - trash it
#3 - alter it

At the end every thing I own will have been on my body and then and only then can I truly decide if it's worth keeping.

Join me on my mission to wear it, style it, and pass it on! Introduce yourself! I love new friends!
